Josef Schmitzberger, born on January 28, 1851, in Munich, Germany, was a distinguished painter renowned for his depictions of hunting scenes, wildlife, and landscapes. His artistic journey began under the guidance of his father, a skilled gem cutter, before he pursued formal education at the Royal School of Arts and Crafts in Munich. Advancing his studies, Schmitzberger enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich on May 4, 1868, marking the beginning of a prolific career dedicated to capturing the essence of nature and the thrill of the hunt.
