Italian (1400-1455)
A Dominican friar and painter of the Early Renaissance, he was known for blending deep religious devotion with exceptional artistic talent. Fra Angelico’s works often feature luminous colors, delicate figures, and a calm spiritual tone. He painted many altarpieces and frescoes that helped define Florentine art in the 15th century. His artistic style bridged the medieval and Renaissance periods, showing both heavenly idealism and human tenderness. His murals in the San Marco monastery in Florence remain some of the most revered religious artworks in Italy today.

Artwork Story
